Blue Lace Agate was first found by George Swanson on his farm in Namibia in 1964. Its blue swirling patterns show a remarkable resemblance to the earth photographed from space and so, in 1974 this stone became the symbol of world ecology.
Blue Lace Agate Geological Description:
Agate is a form of banded Chalcedony, a mineral of the quartz group. It has a trigonal crystal structure and a hardness of 7. Blue Lace Agate is banded in intricate patterns of light blue and white. The highest quality specimens are found in South Africa.
