The Norse pantheon is rich with intriguing gods, each of whom plays not only an important role in Norse life but also has a vital role to come at the end of the world.
This Norse God – Heimdall Statue depicts one such powerful Nordic god-warrior. There are some who would argue that Heimdall is one of the most important of the Norse gods, not because of his role in the average workings of man, but because his role is of paramount importance. Heimdall is said to possess the gift of foreknowledge, as well as keen senses that allow him to see and hear all in Asgard and Midgard.
In this statue, he stands like a proud and powerful Norse warrior, dressed in fine armor and wielding a single-handed sword, while he holds a horn to his lips and sounds a toneless note. The horn is Gjallarhorn, and its note is the sound that heralds Ragnarok, the end of the world. It is Heimdall who summons the gods to battle and gives them a fighting chance.
Accompanying Heimdall in this statue is a rooster, whose role is similar to Heimdall's, as well as a curved rainbow, which symbolizes the burning bridge, Bifrost, which links heaven to the mortal realm. The statue is crafted entirely in cold cast bronze, which consists of resin mixed with powdered bronze to create a statue as light as resin but with the luster of cast bronze metal. It has also been selectively hand-painted to further enhance its impressive level of detail.
The Norse statue stands approximately 9.25 inches tall. Luckily, this Norse God – Heimdall Statue does not herald the end of the world as we know it, but what he does do is stand tall as a brilliant addition that you can add to your decor or give as a great gift to any history or mythology buffs that you might know and treasure.
